Starting April 30, 2018 Coconino Community College administers the ACCUPLACER placement test from The College Board. We administer the following sections of Accuplacer (click on each name to learn more): Placement Testing Requriements: Students are encouraged to review the study guides and use the practice test below to become familiar with and prepare for taking the ACCUPLACER, the placement test administered at CCC. Placement Testing Information
Please go to the ACCUPLACER/College Board Website for more information on the test. Coconino
Community College believes academic achievement is directly related to the course placement students receive prior to their enrollment. We are committed to providing opportunities for successful academic experiences for all students.
Math: All students start by taking the Elementary Algebra section (12 multiple choice questions).
If a student receives a scores of 61 or higher on this section, then they move on to the section on
College Level Math (20 multiple choice questions).
Reading Comprehension: 20 multiple choice questions.
WritePlacer: Consisting of a 300 - 600 word essay.
** We also offer placement exams for Spanish, French and German.
** Please note we do not administer the "Sentence Skills" portion of the ACCUPLACER exam.
The ACCUPLACER Exam is not timed, however we recommend that you allow 3 hours for testing on all three sections. Once you have completed
your exam you will print out your results, including your recommended course placement. The test administrator will review this information with you.

Are you looking to take an ACCUPLACER Exam at a location near your home? Our Testing Services office can help you make this arrangement.
Coconino Community College is also able to proctor the ACCUPLACER Exam as well as course exams for students taking classes at other
schools. There will be a $30 proctor fee for each test taken for another school.

Sending ACCUPLACER or ACT/SAT Scores
When submitting ACCUPLACER scores to CCC from;another institution,you must present an official copy or have scores faxed or email directly
from the testing center.
ACT/SAT scores can also be used for placement if taken within the last two years.

GED Testing
Testing Services administers the GED exam each Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.(excluding holidays), at our testing facility located
on the Fourth Street Campus.
General Information: The test is given on computer only and registration and scheduling must be completed online. You must have a
working email address to use the system.
The new test consists of 4 content areas at $35 each and is offered in English or Spanish:
Reasoning through Language Arts (150 minutes)
Mathematical Reasoning (115 minutes)
Science (90 minutes)
Social Studies (75 minutes)
GED Preparation: CCC’s Adult Education Department offers low-cost GED prep classes throughout the year. Students are required to
attend an orientation session for Adult Education classes. Orientation sessions are held each month, for more information please contact

GED Practice Test: The Official Practice Test can be taken at www.GED.com for $6 per content area. Free practice tests can be found
at www.GEDtestingservice.com under the For the Educators tab.
Scheduling: All scheduling occurs online at www.GED.com after the registration process is complete.
Tip: Students do not have to take all four sections of the GED in a single session. We recommend scheduling no more than 2 sections of
the GED exam in one day for greater success on the exam. Retest Policy: Students can test three times on the same subject without waiting.
After the third attempt, there is a 60-day waiting period before trying again. Currently the retest fee is discounted to $15 per content area
(subject to change). Accommodations: All accommodations for testing are granted through GED Testing Services. You will find all necessary
forms and instructions at www.GED.com.
Under 18 candidates: After registering at www.GED.com, you will receive notice that you are unable to schedule until certain

to discuss the additional forms that are required and your next steps. Necessary forms include an official withdrawal form from the last
school attended as well as a notarized parental permission slip. When the documents have been accepted, you will receive email notice
that you may proceed with scheduling.
Civics (Untimed): Starting January 1, 2016, the state of Arizona will require all GED candidates to pass an additional section of Civics. The Civics
exam is 100 multiple choice questions taken from the U.S. Citizenship and Naturalization Exam. The cost for the Civics exam is $9 per attempt,
the exam is not timed, and is only offered in English. Students may retake the exam as many times as needed to pass.

correct answers, all answers provided on the study guide are correct.

ATI TEAS (formerly HESI) Nursing Entrance Exam Testing and Registration
CCC’s nursing program requires that applicants take the ATI TEAS exam at CCC before applying to the nursing program.
Scores from other institutions will not be accepted with the nursing program application. The test is typically offered several weeks before
the Nursing Program’s application deadline, and students are offered the chance to retest before the application deadline.
We no longer administer the HESI nursing entrance exam, as of May 2017.
Testing Fees: The test fee for ATI TEAS for the 2017 - 2018 school year will be $65 for students applying to CCC’s nursing program
and $85 for students applying to a different program (but testing at CCC).
Testing manual: The official ATI-TEAS Study Manual (6th Edition) is available in the CCC Bookstore for $48 (plus tax).

To Register: Students must pay the testing fee at the Student Cashier desk at Lone Tree, or the Registration desk at Fourth Street.
The student will bring their payment receipt to the Testing Office, where they will be registered for a testing session and given all
necessary information about pre-testing expectations and what to bring for their testing appointment.

Students are allowed one re-take of the ATI TEAS exam. Students must re-take the entire exam; retesting for individual sections is not available.
Study Sessions: CCC will offer two (2) study sessions for the ATI TEAS exam led by CCC tutors. The study sessions will utilize the official
ATI TEAS Study Manual that is available in the CCC Bookstore, and all four sections of the exam will be reviewed briefly.
The first session will be held Monday, December 18, from 3 to 5 pm. in room 125, on the Lone Tree campus. The second session will be held
the week before ATI TEAS testing begins (date and time TBD).

Pearson VUE Testing
Pearson VUE testing is currently limited to GED and AMT testing only. For information on AMT testing please
