At Coconino Community College (CCC), we are committed to creating an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive. The Student Code of Conduct exists not to punish, but to help students learn, grow, and succeed within a community that values integrity, respect, and responsibility.

Your Responsibilities as a CCC Student Your Rights as a CCC Student

Being part of the CCC community means upholding shared values and contributing to a positive campus environment. As a CCC student, you are expected to:

  • Uphold Core Values
Act with integrity, respect, responsibility, community, and social justice in all interactions - in class, online, and in college-sponsored activities, as well as in the community.
  • Know and Follow College Policy
You are responsible for reviewing and abiding by the CCC Student Code of Conduct and other college policies. Ignorance of the rules is not a defense.
  • Communicate through Official Channels
CCC email is the college's primary means of communication. You are responsible for reading and responding to communications sent to your CCC email.
  • Respond to Conduct Notices
If you receive notice of an alleged conduct concern, respond promptly and participate fully in the process. Not responding can lead to additional administrative action.
  • Respect Others and the Learning Environment
Behave in ways that support the safety, dignity, and success of others. Disruptive, threatening, harrassing, or harmful behavior undermines the community you share with others.
  • Meet Academic and Behavioral Expectations
Academic honesty, respectful communication, and professional conduct are fundamental to your success and the success of others.

As a student at CCC, you can expect the following:

  • Fair and Respectful Treatment
You have the right to be treated with dignity and respect throughout the conduct process. Decisions will be based on relecant information and applied consistently.
  • Safety and Well-being
You have the right to a safe and supportive learning environment that is free from harrassment, discrimination, retaliation, and violence. CCC is committed to protecting the physical, emotional, and educational well-being of all students.
  • Clear Notice and Opportunity to Be Heard
If an allegation is made against you, you will receive timely, clear notice of the issue and an explanation of the conduct process. You will have the opportunity to respond, ask questions, and participate fully in the process.
  • Presumption of Fairness
No student is considered responsible for an alleged violation until it is determined "more likely than not" that a violation occurred. This means the process seeks fairness and objectivity.
  • Access to Support and Guidance
You may be accompanied by an advisor or support person of your choosing during meetings and hearings. This person may help you understand the process and your options.
  • Respect for Privacy
Your conduct records are protected under federal privacy law (FERPA). Information is shared only as permitted by law.
  • Appeal Rights
If a conduct decision is made, you may appeal it for limited, defined reasons such as procedural error, new evidence, or an inaapropriate sanction.
