Basic Reading Skills

A multi-pronged approach designed to improve reading skills through high interest reading that hones students' skills in phonics, fluency, word recognition, vocabulary development and comprehension, as well as introduces students to author's purpose, main ideas, and supporting details. Prerequisite: Placement. Four lecture. May be taken for S/U credit. Four lecture.

Advanced Reading Improvement

A multi-pronged approach that includes mastery of college reading skills enhanced with supplemental reading, critical thinking, and reading fluency activities. Prerequisite: RDG 089 or placement beyond prerequisite courses. May be taken for S/U credit. Four lecture.
