22-00 ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES—POLICY

The DGB mission is to govern on behalf of Coconino County citizens by:

  1. Employing, evaluating, and supporting a President as the institutional leader
    1. Select and retain the best President possible
    2. Define clear parameters and expectations for performance
    3. Conduct periodic evaluations – provide honest and constructive feedback
    4. Create an environment for success
    5. Act ethically in relationship with the President

  2. Monitoring fiscal health of institution
    1. Require wise and prudent use of funds and management of assets

  3. Setting and monitoring policy direction
    1. Be proactive, visionary, and future-oriented
    2. Focus on community needs and trends
    3. Define expectations for high quality programs and student services
    4. Set parameters to attract and retain high quality personnel and ensure fair treatment of employees
    5. Schedule a timetable for progress reports

  4. Advocating for the College
    1. Actively promote the College in the community
    2. 2.Foster partnerships with other entities in the community
    3. 3.Advocate the needs of the College with government officials
    4. 4.Support the Foundation and fundraising efforts
    5. 5.Protect the College from inappropriate influence
