HESI Testing & Registration
The HESI A-2 test is used to determine admissions eligibility to CCC's Nursing Program. The test is offered twice a year (January and July), the month prior to the deadline for nursing applications.
The test is open to applicants to CCC or any other nursing program. Score reports are given to candidates upon completion of the test. We are happy to fax/forward your scores to other institutions upon your request. However, the CCC Nursing Department does not accept scores from candidates who tested elsewhere.
The test consists of questions in anatomy & physiology, chemistry, biology, math, grammar, reading comprehension, and vocabulary, plus a new essay portion. We have added two short answer essay questions to the beginning of the test. If you are using scores from previous test sessions, you will still need to complete this portion. Please visit the Testing Office for more information. Candidates have just under 6 hours to complete both the online and essay portions of the test.
FEE INFORMATION: The fee for HESI testing is $70. Cash, check or credit cards accepted. This fee applies whether you are testing for the first time or retesting and is payable at time of registration.
- Refund Policy: A full refund will be given for cancellations made 5 or more business days prior to test date. A partial refund ($50) will be given for cancellations made within 1-4 business days of test date. No refunds given for day-of cancellations or missed tests.

In-person registration opens Monday, May 6, in Office B22 behind the student computer lab at the 4th Street campus. Payment and valid photo ID due at time of registration.
Retesting Information
Candidates who are unhappy with their first-time score are eligible for retesting in the computerized portion of the HESI only. Candidates cannot rewrite the essay portion. Registration for retests will open Monday, August 19. The $70 fee again applies and must be pre-paid.
