GED Testing & Registration
ATTENTION GED RE-TESTERS: please click on the link for important information regarding the new 2014 test. new-ged-test-january-2014.pdf
Due to the huge demand for GED testing this fall, we are no longer accepting new candidates for paper/pencil testing. However, we are offering the current version of the GED on computer for the remainder of this year. Beginning in 2014, we will offer the new version of the GED on computer only--it will be academically more rigorous, and the price is increasing to $30 per subject.
Great news! The Arizona Department of Education has announced that the retest wait period of 30 days has been dropped. Hopefully this will allow for more people who need to retest to complete this year before current scores expire. Also, a fourth attempt at testing will be allowed for the remainder of this year (certain restrictions apply, please visit the testing office).
Candidates interested in GED testing must pre-register to take the test. We require two forms of identification and payment at time of registration. Candidates under the age of 18 must also provide a notarized parental consent form and an official withdrawal notice from your last school.
The GED exam has five tests: math, writing, science, social studies, and reading. Cost for all five tests for first-time candidates is $90; retakes are $12/test and you must wait 30 days before testing. Payment must be made with cash, card or money order--no personal checks please!
On average the test is offered once or twice a month throughout the academic year at the 4th Street Campus and twice a year at the Page Campus.
